Why there is an activation period after installing
The protection session is itself a new Telegram session. Until 24 hours have passed since its login, Telegram does not let it terminate other sessions: this is a platform rule and it applies to every client. That is why protection is worth connecting in advance rather than during an incident.

Questions and answers
What is the activation period?
The protection session is created as a new Telegram session, and for its first 24 hours a new session cannot terminate others. That is a platform limitation, not an app setting.
How is this different from 2FA?
2FA protects a new login with an extra password, but it does not watch an already-active session on your behalf. Protector also tracks an already-authorised session being moved to another device.
What counts as a Trusted Device?
The ones you confirmed as yours. They stop raising the “is this you?” request on later logins.
Does the app read my messages?
No. It works with sessions and access parameters, not with the content of your chats.
What happens if I do not answer the request?
TG Cerber starts terminating the session according to the rule you set and within the limits Telegram allows.
