TG Cerber API

Connect an AI assistant

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client to your organization's TG Cerber workspace. The assistant can then read what you allow and do what you allow, through the same operations as the API.

Before you start

You are an admin of a TG Cerber for Business organization on the Archive plan or above. To let the assistant read archived messages you need the organization's archive password.

MCP server URL: https://admin.tgcerber.com/mcp

Claude

Needs a paid Claude plan; on Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds custom connectors for the organization.

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Name: TG Cerber. URL: https://admin.tgcerber.com/mcp. Click Add.
  4. Click Connect — a TG Cerber page opens.
  5. Sign in to TG Cerber, choose which accounts the assistant may read and what it may do, and enter the archive password.
  6. Click Allow. You are back in Claude and the connector is ready.

ChatGPT

On Plus and Pro in developer mode; on Business and Enterprise a workspace admin adds it.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Name: TG Cerber. URL: https://admin.tgcerber.com/mcp. Authentication: OAuth. Click Create.
  4. Click Connect, sign in to TG Cerber, choose accounts and permissions, enter the archive password and click Allow.

Other MCP clients

Use the same URL. TG Cerber supports OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so a client that follows the MCP authorization specification finds everything it needs from the URL (see Authentication). A client without OAuth can use a static token: create one in the console (profile menu → Developer) and send it as Authorization: Bearer <token>.

Local zero-knowledge mode

If you do not want TG Cerber's server to hold the archive password, use the local mode — an open-source bridge runs on your own computer and the archive is decrypted there. Bridge and setup: github.com/tgcerber/tgcerber-mcp (create the local connection on the Developer page of the console).

Archive tools (MCP only)

MCP toolWhat it does
list_accountsList accounts
list_foldersList folders
list_chatsList chats
list_chat_membersList chat members
get_chat_messagesGet chat messages
search_messagesSearch messages
get_message_historyGet message history
get_mediaGet media

All other MCP tools are the operations of the API reference, under the same names.

Before changes

An assistant should tell you what it is about to change, and to which account or person, and wait for your confirmation; operations marked Destructive (signing sessions out, offboarding, deleting archive data) always need it.
